Yes, for the ones who do play the game and have sensitive feelings, I wouldn't recommend playing it unless you're the complete opposite and you want to slay demons for fun.. This is a nice little game and if you enjoy horror games this is certainly something nice to tide you over to "bigger" horror games. Alas I am saddend to say that this is not for me, on account of me not doing well with horror games.The game could use clearer instructions, because as of right now, the only way to learn the control schemes (of which there are three) is frequent use and a lot of reading of the help function (F1).It strikes a balance between fending off monsters extremely dangerous to your health, to not trying to kill all of them. This is because you will become a maniac, who gets her (the main character is most likely female) giggles off of killing things, if you "kill" too many monsters. There are ways of reducing your "mania", but these are limited one time use items, best used whenever you havee a large collection of bodies to call upon, or find yourself in a location where a lot of ponies would have left their bodies because of unfortunate means.I wish the very best to the creator and hope a lot of people will find their joy in this game. While we're writing a scenario for The Golden Rogue, we don't want to ignore those who are following the original game. Yesterday, we've released a small update, in which we have fixed the most of the bugs and also reworked two monsters. Here's a list of all changes: Fixed a bug causing the music during the usage of Sorcery spell play over the level music; Fixed a bug causing an inventory not to appear in the abstract HUD; The weapon now switches to the different one if you attempt to shoot with no ammo; Fixed a bug that allowed to see the outlines of the level during the dynamic camera mode; Fixed a bug causing an injury effects to happen after loading the save file; The character icon in the classic HUD now shows their physical HP; The Wraiths now slow the character on hit, the effect can stack; The flying Wraiths now shoot the ice splinter that deal the physical damage and slow the character; Wraiths and flying Wraiths can now be configured via sOptions; Changes some sound effects of Wraiths and flying Wraiths; Added a sound effect of opening and closing the map; Shaft no longer becomes the selected weapon upon picking it up; Reduced the amount of monsters on the first level; Fixed hitboxes of several objects; Fixed a few visual glitches; Fixed a bug that allowed to set off the trigger in the cathedral via the teleport spell;So, those are the changes in our small update. Early Beat-1 and many other interesting things!: Finally, I’ve got myself an absolutely new and really powerful PC. And that means I can resume the work on D’LIRIUM! What means a lot is the fact that we finally have finished porting the game to the new engine! So, let’s talk about that…What is the Early Beta-1? That’s porting the game to the new engine with some improvements. Remembering all that has been changed will require more than an entire hour, so, let’s mention the most important changes in comparison to alpha-12, and all that we can remember: New engine, unlike the old one, is written in C++, not in Delphi. It affects the process and result of building the code and compiling it into exe. Moreover, despite still being a bit unstable, it’s way more optimized. D’LIRIUM’s performance has grown multiple times. The game is able to work even on the old Pentiums (but that’s not verified)! And the most important thing is being able to support cross-platform! Steam overlay and screenshots have been fixed. No more black frames or cut-out menu. Volume settings. No more mixers! New sprites for the spells. Now you can easily tell what spells they represent.Walkthrough timer no longer counts the time of cutscenes.Chinese language! Both traditional and simplified.Waypoints. Now, the character is quite good at choosing the way to the destination.A complete rework of the save-and-load system. Save files will no longer break after another update!New design of the main character. For those who like old Ada more – don’t worry, she’ll appear too, but later.The background of the main menu and game over screens have been reworked. Not completely, but mostly.Achievements! Finally, we have linked the game to Steam. There’s only one achievement for now, for the test, but there’ll be more by the time of Early Beta-1 release.Activating panic mode has become much easier.Many of you complained about the game being too dark. With the new videocard I was able to notice that too. The game has become two times brighter.The levels have been optimized.And that’s far from being the full list, only a few things that we were able to remember while writing this article.A lot of the things we’ve described earlier are yet to be done, but some of them will appear in the future builds of the game. We’re still discussing what’s worth adding and what’s not.Expect the Early Beta in two days, but the pre-release build is able for playing already, if you chose it in the game’s properties. The development is on hold again.: It's been a while since the last update on Beta-1 or The Golden Rogue, our Patreon is dead and so is the activity on our Steam page. And the reason behind that is the development of the D'LIRIUM's new update being put on hold, as we told you before, due to the development of The Golden Rogue, which is being developed while surrounded in secrecy. And during the latest week we've made more progress than during the latest month!Currently, The Golden Rogue is already looking like an almost finished product. The levels are all done and even though they are without a plot yet, they're fully passable. The most of the mechanics have been debugged and are ready. The levels are big and open. The game takes quite some time to pass, especially compared to the original D'LIRIUM. And that's where we've stummbled upon a big, or maybe even fatal problem. Even though the locations are so much better designed and drawn than in the original game, running through them and fighting the same enemies over and over is boring! We're absolutely sure that not adding a deversity of new enemies would make the game fail. That's why we offer our community to try and take a part in the game's development. The development of The Golden Rogue will be put on hold for the period of three months due to me going abroad for the whole Winter.
